Secondary active cation-chloride cotransporters (CCCs) such as NKCC1 play a vital roles in cell function by moving Cl- into and out of cells. This structural model of NKCC1 developed using cryo-EM at PNCC will hopefully act as a blueprint for learning more about the structure-function relationship of NKCC1 and other CCCs.
